The space inside the Hall of Cultural centre in Gostivar was too small to let in all the fans that came to listen and watch the artistic program of The National Ensemble of Songs and Dance “Shota”, on Saturday, 20th February 2016.

This activity was organized by Municipality of Gostivar, under patronage of the Mayor Mr. Nevzat Bajta, in honor of 8th anniversary of Kosovo’s Independence. Singers, dancers and orchestra of Ensemble “Shota”, performed more than one and a half hour to entertain the spectators on a very festive atmosphere. Magnificent spectators of Gostivar were applauding almost every move or word interpreted in the stage.

Throughout his speech, mayor Bejta highlighted that was a great pleasure the presence of Ensemble “Shota” from Republic of Kosovo, in the city of Gostivar. “It was the moment to celebrate the independence of Republic of Kosovo. The merit for independence of Kosovo is of all Albanians everywhere they are, but Albanians from Gostivar have special merits, all Albanians over the Macedonia in general have given a great contribution for Kosovo’s independence that today we celebrate here together on this day”, said Mr. Bejta, who whilst speaking about The Ensemble “Shota” said that we have been grown with “Shota”, also “Shota” was the soul of the Albanian Nation which protected and developed our tradition, custom, mores and our traditional songs and all the spiritual and national Albanian value. In a sign of respect and remembrance, he gave the symbol of the city of Gostivar to director of ensemble, Mr. Shefqet Gjocaj. While director Gjocaj gave the monograph of Ensemble to mayor Bejta, which was prepared for 50th anniversary of establishment. Simultaneously he expressed himself very happy that he was in the city of Gostivar, where, as he said, the great reception, warm-hearted welcome and huge presence of spectators on the hall made him to feel very good.

“It is a privilege and honor that I’m here in the midst of you, we are really happy to see the hall fulfilled by spectators. Albanian spectators in Macedonia are remarkable, everywhere we went they welcomed us very good”, said Gjocaj who also, in the name of Kosovo people, expressed a public thank for all Albanians of Macedonia for their great support, especially during the war (1998-1999), where, as he said, “they found the opened door from you- their second home”.
